I just got a great deal on a new pair of jeans that I've been wanting for a long time. They're true religions, which some people don't like, but I buy whatever fits...and not to mention I can't pass up a 50% off deal anywhere! Then I went to Anthropologie, one of my favorite stores, to mosey around. OF course I walked out with a new shirt. I didn't mean to, but my justification was that I'll save it for a back to school outfit?? Do we still do that in college? No, because nobody in college cares what you wear...you rarely ever see the same people twice at a college with 32,000 students so who are we dressing to impress anyway? Anyway, that was a random sidenote. But now, twenty minutes after my new purchases, the smile has sort of been wiped off my face. I'll tell you why. I came to work straight from Gateway, fine, no harm done. No more than five minutes after I arrived at work, one of my coworkers came in and asked me if I'd seen the crash. It happened four minutes ago. I ran out to look at the wreckage on the corner, and sure enough, there was a car, totalled, in the middle of the intersection, another car on the opposite side that had hit a light pole straight on and bent the pole completely in half. Sadly, that car was totalled too. There was a woman with curly blonde hair sitting on the grass in hysteria. Something tells me she might have been the owner of the car that smashed ino the pole. Car crashes are insane. In an instant, your life is headed one way. You're on your merry way to do something menial, maybe something you don't want to do, or something desperately important. And then, literally in the blink of an eye...your life has changed. When you wake up in the morning, no one thinks to themselves, "I wonder if I'm going to get in a car accident today." All we can do is pray every morning for Heavenly Father to protect us throughout the day and watch over family and friends as well. This event though gave me a sick feeling and made me want to go return my new "back to school outfit" because those new clothes are not what's important in life at all. If you're reading this today, tomorrow, two months or five years from now, please take the time to call your loved ones and tell them what they mean to you. In and instant, life can change. My life just changed, even if only for the moment. I called my loved ones and told them to be safe and made sure they knew I loved them, now you do it. Sorry if this sounds like a weird forwarded email, but this is real life. I feel sorry for those involved in this accident, because truly, it probably was an accident on all parts of the parties involved and it could have been anyone, it could have been me. Thank Heavenly Father for keeping us all safe in our daily routines. Remember to be happy :)
Love,
Peach
